Week 7 -- Cleanup, and a look back
Hey all, the team wanted to push out one last update before the inevitable Mayan Apocalypse. Check out the following video, which shows off all of the features of the game after one term of work.
-Networked Multiplayer
-Animations
-Capturable Points functioning (hard to see currently, but they are!)
-Health Bar
-Gold Pickups
-Gold Counter
-First pass of the Armory menu
-Win/Loss condititons
-Map auto-reset after win/loss
The big adventure ahead for the next couple months will be:
-Implementing a couple more combat mechanics
-Up to eight new weapons and armors, plus their abilities
-An improved environment
-Lots of beautiful sound effects and some sweet music!

Week 5 and 6 -- Armory, HUD, Presentations, etc.
Between creating and preparing for a presentation to our faculty advisor, and finals week, its been a stressful couple of weeks for the Bushido Bots team. We have, however, managed to find time to make plenty of progress. Feel free to check out our first 'term presentation' below:
The objective markers, showing who owns the point (background color) and who/how many are capturing the point (colored numbers):

Here's the recoil animation that plays if your attack is parried by an opponent:
The Blade Rush ability animation for the katana:
Here's a shot of the Armory, where you spend gold on weapons and armor between lives. Take a look at the final selection of weaponry, which is showcased on the left. (The armor on the right is placeholder art)
Here are the various heads that can appear in-game on your robot:

And that's it for this week. We'll be working over winter break so we can make as much progress as possible before the end of the year. See you in a few weeks!
